( down-tempo.net) How did you come up with such title?
( Hexstatic)
Well we are both really into real robots, collect toy Robots and my nickname is 'Robot' Also the music is a kind of change in direction and we anticipated some reaction to this,..hence the title 'When Robots Go Bad'!
( down-tempo.net)Sabirajade is a new voice to us all. Can you tell us a bit more about her?
( Hexstatic) She is fresh out of music college and does acoustic soul music with a band called Speakershoe and solo stuff as Sabirajade,..check myspace.
( down-tempo.net) Where did you meet?
She was singing in a bar I was in and I thought she had an amazing voice,..I had to leave while she was still singing but luckily a friend of mine Ninja Shane knew her and passed her number on.
( down-tempo.net) Profisee sounds like « old style » Mcs and brings some sort of counterpoint ( less bpm, more soul) in the course of the album. Is it what you were looking forward to?
( Hexstatic) Yes definitely, I much prefer that 'old school' sound with MC's. He does stuff as Great Ezcape that also has a drum and bass influence which I found really fresh. We had done a gig a few years ago in Edinburgh and I thought he was great so I got in touch.
( down-tempo.net) This album meanders in and out of the dancefloor up until the (sex?) climax of Bust! What pushed you towards such progression in the tracklisting?
( Hexstatic) Well I think that's how we play sets and so it seemed natural, you want it to start off big and then bring it down a bit and then end with a 'bang!'
( down-tempo.net) What was the first track you recorded for this album?
( Hexstatic) Funnily enough it was 'Bust'. It was actually a reaction to having no money and being a bit annoyed with music in general and so I wanted to make something really 'angry'. It got 'sexed' up a bit later on,..it reminded me of one of my favorite acid house records 'Give It To Me' by Bam Bam which has that female moan in it,..so I wanted to add a bit of that feel too.

( Hexstatic) In a supermarket on an iPod.
( down-tempo.net) How should this sentence end:« when robots go bad... »
( Hexstatic) "We'll all be had"
( down-tempo.net) In your opinion... can robots dance?
( Hexstatic) Yes, better than most humans I think! Most humans dance like robots anyway,..the Arctic Monkeys said so!
( down-tempo.net) Are you Decepticons or Autobots? When robots go bad do they protect or destroy?
( Hexstatic) Oh I think they definitely destroy, preconceptions, attitude, snobbishness
hopefully.
( down-tempo.net) Do you think the production of « transformers the movie » will take you to court for tampering with their agenda?
( Hexstatic) When they see our live video show they may do!
( down-tempo.net) Can you reveal here some details of the next release due 2008?

( Hexstatic) We don't have plans for an exactshit release as such,..but we are planning a
DVD next year with all the best stuff from the last Hexstatic albums plus some new stuff and a load of remixes both audio and video.
